Mary Jean (Sawyer) Nettles was born on April 27, 1941, in Silsbee, Texas, to the late John Wayne Sawyer and Mae Elizabeth. (Hensarling) Sawyer, and died Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Lufkin.
Mrs. Nettles was a member of the First Baptist Church in Diboll and served as the secretary there for over 25 years. She loved flowers and was an avid reader. Mrs. Nettles especially enjoyed reading her Bible. She was a great sister and a loving mother and nana.
Mrs. Nettles is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ladonna Michelle and David Garza of Diboll, TX; granddaughter, Arianna Boutin and husband Collin of League City, TX; granddaughter, Alyssa Garza and Weston of Diboll, TX; sister, Peggy Terry and husband Billy of Bryan, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
