Sept. 26 proved to be a busy day for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Division with multiple arrests made.

Pamela Faye Borrow, 66, of Livingston, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, marking her second arrest for methamphetamine possession this year, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding drug-related offenses within the community. She is currently being held in the Polk County Jail awaiting further legal proceedings.

“The repeated offenses demonstrate the ongoing challenges we face in combating substance abuse in our area. We remain dedicated to working with our partners to address these issues and ensure the safety of our community,” Captain Dave Sottosanti said.

That same day, officers observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling in the Blanchard area.

During the stop officers discovered probable cause to search the vehicle, leading to the seizure of methamphetamine. The vehicle’s occupants, Marlena Anne Toomey, 37, and Diane Nicole Wiggins, 39, both residents of Livingston, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, Toomey, attempted to conceal her identity by providing a false name and date of birth and signed a government document with this false information, resulting in additional charges of forgery and failure to identify/give false information. It was also determined that she was wanted out of Liberty County.

Both individuals are currently in custody and awaiting further legal proceedings.

“The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is committed to combating drug-related crimes and fraudulent activity in Polk County,” Sottosanti said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigation Division assisted with both incidents.
